The contact had said that he would pick the disc from a particular C. O. R. A. unit that would be waiting for Hiroshi among the diverse sex workers that usually gathered in front of the bars and clubs of the President Elon Musk Memorial Plaza.

“Funny choice for delivering important stuff”, thought Hiroshi. The disc contained all the information about the Bliss Police’s depots and checkpoints, essential intelligence for the armed resistance movement that they were trying to build.

Androids had joined the resistance just recently, but their help was proving invaluable. They were essentially an army of invisible slaves, built to take care of much of the daily tasks, from sweeping the streets to repairing machines, from delivering packages to… provide all sorts of pleasures. They had eyes and ears everywhere.

The plaza was crowded, but he saw her immediately. Carnality Oriented Recreation Androids were incredibly complex machines, designed to please and attract. It seemed their designers had finally achieved the long-pursued human dream of eternal beauty, with their fresh and sensual doll-like faces, and their flawless bodies.

But, after all, they were machines that could break, be neglected, or overused. This particular unit was a fascinating view. Her impressively sexy and beautiful build coexisted with some wear-and-use signs. The usual replacement covers, salvaged from a different android, indicated a cheap owner who wouldn’t be bothered to keep his android in mint condition for demanding customers.

She saw him coming near and greeted him with an incredibly warm and convincing smile. “Hello, my love. I was dying to see you today! What do you wanna do?”.

“Damn, these things are good…”, thought Hiroshi. “I did something special with another unit from the Chromed Lotus the other day. Do you have a geisha suit and a gasmask?”, said Hiroshi, hoping that he had remembered correctly the particular sentences of the password.

For a moment, Hiroshi thought he had seen an almost imperceptible spark in her eyes. She leaned forward and embraced his waist with her arms, softly introducing the hands in the back pockets of his trousers. “I’m afraid it will need to wait for another day, honey. I don’t have the proper gear available today”, said the android to his ear, in one of the most sensual tones he had ever heard. Then, she shied away, gave another puff on the cigarette, and started talking to an old guy that was checking the other droids on the square.

Hiroshi left the square, feeling discreetly the shape of the disc in his back pocket. These androids always fascinated him with their incredibly convincing, but obviously fake act. But this time, something was different. “That spark…”
