The 3rd Continental Light Dragoons was a mounted regiment raised by the Continental Congress in New Jersey in 1777, also known as “Baylor’s Horse” or Lady Washington’s Horse” due to the name of their successive commanders, Lt. Col. George Baylor and Lt. Col. William Washington. As was usual in this type of unit, their soldiers were trained in both Infantry and Cavalry tactics and fighting skills, so they were considered “mounted infantry”.

After some initial episodes in which they fell victim to night attacks by the loyalists, suffering great losses (one of those episodes was the famous “Baylor Massacre” in which their initial commander was captured), they were amalgamated with the 1st Light Dragoons and performed greatly in diverse battles and engagements, including the battles of Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse or Eutaw Springs.

Their uniform was white with blue turns and cuffs. Our miniature has these colors reversed because it portrays a trumpeter and can be painted in several regimental choices.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.
