The importance of the French and Spanish intervention in the American Revolutionary War is sometimes underestimated, but certain aspects of it were instrumental in the Continental victory over the British. Both countries took the gamble of declaring war on Britain, each one with their own geopolitical gains in mind, and sent big amounts of weapons and supplies, plus full contingents of troops and Navy squadrons.

French troops, under the command of Jean-Baptiste Donatien de Vimeur, and Comte de Rochambeau, fought in the main theaters of operations, side by side with their American allies. As they were especially well equipped and counted on the support of the navy and heavy artillery, they were very important in all the actions that required a certain advantage over the enemy.

Our miniature depicts a chasseur from one of the regiments that fought in America (34 eme Reg. Touraine). Depending on the colors, it can be used to depict many of the French regiments in the American Revolution and, with a slight conversion job in the back pockets of the tunic, it can be used to portray them all (check the guide of regiments included in this same page).

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.
