The Sioux is a Native-American people that originally was arranged in a confederation of tribes that later was known as The Great Sioux Nation. When the Europeans arrived on the Northern American continent and encountered them, they lived in the American plains of the actual United States of America and the south of Canada.

The disruption that the appearance of the European settlers caused on all the existing cultures along the whole continent also impacted greatly these nomadic people that made a living essentially on the hunting of the bison. Bit by bit, their lands were taken from them and their territories were invaded by the expansion of a young nation that was immersed in a long self-defining process.

The resultant conflict from this decline is commonly known as the Indian Wars and spanned a few centuries. It came to a climax during the mid-nineteen century and had its last climax during the Black Hills War that started in 1875 when the Gold Rush reached the remaining territories of the Sioux. The Federal Government tried to buy the land from them, but they refused and an army was sent to evict them under the orders of General Custer. The federal army was destroyed at the Battle of Little Big Horn. That would be the last triumph of the Sioux and the start of their final decline, which ended up with their confinement in reservations.

Our figure, a classic Elite Miniaturas reference sculpted by Ángel Terol, depicts a proud warrior from this tribe with a mix of native and captured equipment.

Note: This is a resin miniature kit that requires assembly and painting.
